Pelikan's story originates in 1838 when chemist Carl Hornemann founded a small company to produce ink and water colours. Based out of Hanover, Germany, the Pelikan logo itself is borne from his family's coat of arms and is now synonymous with one of the oldest brands in Germany.

Pelikan are famed for their 1929 invention of the differentiated piston filling mechanism. In the following decades, the company established its international reputation for manufacturing high-quality, plush fountain pens.

The barrel with the anthracite stripes is made of cellulose acetate, using a traditional process that's extremely work intensive. For the black, finely turned pieces of high-quality resin is used. The clip and the rings are plated with palladium. Every single writing instrument is checked by hand to make sure it fulfills the strictest quality criteria.

Twist-action mechanism.

The K805 Ball Pen is large and weighty and is Pelikan's traditional ball pen. 

Takes Pelikan 337 refills which are available with blue or black ink.
